MARCH    Hopefully spring weather is just around the corner!  Regardless of what the weather will bring, please be sure to dress your child in weather appropriate clothes.  We want to be able to go outside whenever possible and that means making sure your child has whatever clothes he/she may need.  It might be a good idea to leave a hat and gloves in your child's backpack for whatever winter weather we have left.  Also, if possible please send boots with your child in the morning if it is wet or snowy.  Again, we want to be sure we can all go outside if the opportunity arises!  One more comment about clothing, please make sure your child's shoes are appropriate to play safely on the playground!  We know you are all busy, so we appreciate you taking the extra time to have your child prepared for anything!    We have a busy month ahead of us with parent conferences, school pictures and spring break.  You will soon have your definite times for parent conferences.  If  you find out that this time will not work for you, please alert your teacher ASAP to make different arrangements.    We enjoyed the many guests we had throughout the month of February.  Anytime a parent or friend wants to come in and share something they do, we are eager to have them.  Just make contact with your child's teacher to set up a date and time.    The themes this month will be Fairy Tales, Dinosaure and Volcanoes, Insects and Spiders, and Animals.  We are hoping for an early arrival of spring weather and we wish you all a relaxing and reenergizing spring break.
Reminders: *Happy Birthday to Sophia on March 3rd! *Happy Birthday to Bradley on March 5th! *School Pictures are March 13th! *Spring Break is the week of March 23rd! *Parent Conferences are the week of March 16th!	Book It!    During the month of March and April, the preschool will be participating in "Book It! Beginners."  This is the early childhood version of the Pizza Hut program, "Book It!"  There is little commitment to this program, all we are asking is that you continue to reading to your child everyday!  There will be a poster in the hall and every time we read a book together in school, we will add a cutout to the poster.  The cutouts will be available to you to take home.  Research has shown that reading to your child is the most important thing you can do to encourage future success in reading.  For this reason, I encourage you to read as often as possible with your child!  Due to the age of our children, I am focusing more on the books read, rather than the amount of time spent reading!  Be sure to discuss the pictures, what is happening and when you are finished, try to summarize the book with your child.  At the end of both months, your child will receive a coupon for a free, one topping, personal pan pizza at Pizza Hut (to be used within 30 days).  It will be exciting to see how many books we can read together!  If you need any recommendations for great books to read, let me know!  Likewise, if your child has a favorite book that he or she would like to share with the class, feel free to bring it in and we will read it together!  Any questions?  Just ask!   ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------    Please make special note of your conference time and date.  If something comes up and you cannot possibly make your scheduled time, please call the preschool 559.4311 and let us know.  Also, please make arrangements for all your children so you and your child's teacher can have an effective conference!  Concerns or questions, please let us know!    _______________________________________________________      School Pictures are scheduled for March 13th at 10:00am.  You will receive an information form to fill out about your child which is due before picture day.  Please do not send any money with this form: money is only due when your purchase your pictures.  Drop your child off the morning in whatever clothes your want them to wear for the picture.  The photographer and teachers will make sure everyone's hair and clothes are picture worthy before the flash goes off!  Two or three weeks picture day, the photographer will return with the pictures for you to see and buy.  We will announce the date for picture pick-up as soon as we know.  On this day, you will be able to buy whatever pictures you want of your child.  Class composites will be available to order and will cost about $8.00.  One final note: Everyone gets a free t-shirt with their picture on it, regardless if you purchase any pictures.  Please include your child's shirt size on the information form, they run small, so order one size larger than your child usually wears.  Please ask Miss Elaine if you have any further questions.  Thanks!
A Look Ahead: *We will be taking a field trip to Slate Run Farm on the morning of April 17th! *Bexley's Kindergarten registration is scheduled for April 7th and 8th!	Just A Reminder:     Registration for the 2009- 2010 school year is now open to the public.  If you are planning on returning for next year, please register your child ASAP.  All that is needed to register is the registration form, and your $50 deposit.  You can get paper work from Miss Elaine or from the office.  Last year our spots filled up quickly, and we are off to a great start for this year as well.  We don't want to lose any of our current families, so act fast!
