For a full review of the animal control ordinances, please check Bexley City Ordinances under Public Documents on this site.

Animal rabies and dog bites are covered in our revised 2006 Animal Rabies ordinance

Barking Dogs -  Animals may not make noise for over 15 minutes from 7 am until 10 pm.  10 pm to 7 am is basically a time of zero tolerance for animal noise.  If you plan on being away during the evening past 10 pm, please make sure you shut dog doors and secure your animals in a safe, quiet location.

Animals at Large/Pooper Scooper -  Dogs, cats and other pets are not allowed to stray or wander in Bexley.  All animals must be appropriately confined on the owner’s property or they must be leashed when off the owner’s property.    When walking your animal off your property all animal waste must be picked up and properly disposed of.

Wildlife -  Bexley Animal Control does not resolve problems with nuisance wildlife.  If you have a problem with nuisance wildlife, please check with trusted neighbors and friends or check the yellow pages under Pest Control to find a wildlife removal company.  Injured and sick wildlife in public areas are removed from the City.
